Cameron Diaz was mentioned by one of Jeffrey Epstein’s former accusers in newly unsealed court documents alleging sexual abuse. In the documents, Johanna Sjoberg claimed that Epstein spoke about his ties to several celebrities, including Diaz, however, Sjoberg clarified in a deposition that she never actually met Diaz. Diaz’s representative stated that the actress had no connection to Epstein and had never met him or been in the same place as him. These documents were unsealed as part of a settled civil defamation lawsuit filed by another accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s confidante.
The late financier was known to socialize with many celebrities, royals, politicians, and businessmen throughout his life. In 2008, he pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor and served over a year in a jail work-release program. He was later arrested on charges of sex trafficking of underage girls and pleaded not guilty. While awaiting trial, Epstein died in prison at the age of 66 from an apparent suicide.
Maxwell, who was alleged to have participated in recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence. Despite being a high-profile figure, Epstein’s death and the subsequent legal proceedings have brought to light the extent of his criminal activities and the people associated with him.
