Family and friends of Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell gathered to pay their tributes after her tragic passing. Anna’s mother June “Mama June” Shannon, her sisters Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, as well as her partner Eldridge Toney and daughter Kaitlyn, all attended the funeral in Georgia on Dec. 13, just days after Anna’s death on Dec 9.
Anna was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January and underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Despite her family’s acceptance of her grim prognosis, they kept hope alive and Anna fought valiantly for 10 months before passing away peacefully at home.
Her younger sister Alana, who starred alongside Anna in “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram after Anna’s passing, expressing her grief and paying her respects. She also shared that she’s glad that Anna waited until she was home with the family to take her last breath.
The entire family, including Anna’s sister Lauryn and Jessica, has been grieving her loss, sharing their memories and messages of love for Anna on social media. Anna’s resilience, bravery, and strength will forever be in their hearts.
