Here is what happened:
Shannon Beador, star of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” has been formally charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol, one count of driving with a blood alcohol level over .08%, and one count of hit-and-run with property damage. The charges stem from an incident in Newport Beach, California, on September 17. According to charging papers obtained by NBC News, all three charges are misdemeanors. Beador, 59, allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .24%, which is three times the legal limit. Her attorney, Michael L. Fell, has stated that Beador is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.
Despite her legal troubles, Beador recently returned to social media and shared that she is focusing on getting healthy and taking care of herself. She expressed her intention to be open, honest, and authentic when the time is right. Beador’s costars on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” have publicly weighed in on her arrest. Gina Kirschenheiter, who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol in 2019, expressed relief that no one was seriously hurt and stated that she feels bad for Beador. Heather Dubrow, another cast member, reached out to Beador and emphasized the importance of taking time and space to figure out next steps.
